Jaipur, 30 August 2021. A new chapter was added in Suratgarh Super Critical Thermal Power Station of Rajasthan Rajya Vidyut Utpadan Nigam on 30th August at 1.30 pm. This is because when power generation was at full load ,it was successfully started from Unit-8 of 660 MW capacity of the power plant.
The Energy Minister, Dr. BD Kalla, expressed his happiness over the successful generation of power at full load of the unit of Suratgarh Supercritical and expressed his gratitude to the Chief Minister . He also said that this work would have been impossible without the chief ministers support and vision.
Dr. Kalla congratulated the Principal Secretary of, Energy Department, Mr. Dinesh Kumar, Chairman and Managing Director of Rajasthan Rajya Vidyut Utpadan Nigam, Mr. RK Sharma. He also congratulated all the officers and employees said that the newly established 660 MW capacity unit-8 was completed. If operated at capacity, it will generate 1.584 crore units of electricity per day.
Now after the trial run from unit-8 for 72 hours, the reliability run operation will be started, after which regular commercial production will be started from this unit in September itself. Dr. Kalla said that due to the non-availability of resources and materials due to the Corona epidemic, the general public could not get the benefit of the energy produced due to a delay in construction work.
Shri RK Sharma, Chairman and Managing Director of Rajasthan Rajya Vidyut Utpadan Nigam was very happy and congratulated all the employees of the power plant for successfully generating electricity at full load from Unit-8 and the regular production. He has asked to make strenuous efforts to do commercial power generation in a few days.
