Jaipur, 7 September. Additional Chief Secretary Mines Dr Subodh Agrawal has informed that to make the working of Mines Department more accessible and transparent, the Departmental Manual of Mines Department will be prepared by the State Government.
He said that the departmental manual would include the responsibilities of additional directors, SMEs, ME AMEs, foremen, draftsmen to ministerial officers and personnel. Therefore work would be done more easily by getting all types of departmental information in a single compilation.
Additional Chief Secretary Mines and Petroleum Dr Agrawal interacted with the departmental officers through video conferencing. He did so from the Secretariat on Tuesday.
He said that a team of senior officers would be constituted by Director Mines Shri KB Pandya to prepare the departmental manual. He would prepare the draft of the departmental manual and submit it to the state government within the stipulated time frame. He said that before this, the departmental manual of 1982 had been prepared. Hence it as seemingly becomes quite necessary to draft one soon.
He said that after 1982, there has been a radical change in technology and methodology. Hence the new menu will be helpful in speeding up the departmental work. It will also help in making the working of officers and personnel easy and transparent.
ACS Dr Aggarwal said that the situation of non-auction contracts of RCC and ERCC is serious. He also said that alternative measures will have to be found to prevent the wastage of revenue of the state government. He gave directions to explore the possibilities of using drones on the lines of Gotan to check illegal mining, transportation and storage.
He said that the officers would have to spend more time in the field outside the boundary wall of the office. This would go a long way in preventing and keeping a check on illegal mining. Illegal transportation activities could be stopped and it would also promote mining activities in the state.
Director Mines Shri KB Pandya informed that action is being taken by the department by campaigning against illegal mining and fine and confiscation of vehicles transporting illegally during night patrolling.
DS Neetu Barupal, SME Shri NS Shaktawat, Director Mines Technical Assistant Shri Satish Arya were present. Apart from them, Additional Director Shri NK Kothiyari was there. Shri Anil Khmesra, Shri Mahesh Mathur from Jaipur, Shri BS Sodha, SME Shri Pratap Meena from Udaipur Headquarters were there in the video conference. SMEs, MEs etc from Ajmer including Shri Jai Gurubaxani also participated.
