Jaipur, 31st Aug. Dr Omprakash, the program head of Doordarshan Kendra Jaipur, retired on Tuesday. This year he completed 37 years of glorious services. On this occasion, various officers and employees, including the Centre President of Doordarshan Kendra, Mr Sanjay Sethi, remembered the services of Dr Omprakash and gave him a heartfelt farewell.
Dr Omprakash started his regular service as broadcast executor from Akashvani Suratgarh in November 1984. In July 1987, he joined the advertising broadcasting service in Jaipur, All India Radio. He also served as broadcast executor in Doordarshan Jaipur in June 1991 and Doordarshan Kendra Delhi in December 1993.
In February 1994, Dr Omprakash was promoted to the post of Program Executive. In May 1995, served as Program Officer in Doordarshan Kendra Jaipur. In April 2012, he was also working in the Directorate General of Doordarshan, New Delhi. In 2019, Dr Omprakash was also promoted to the post of Assistant Director (Programs), and from October 2019 till his retirement, he remained as Director at Doordarshan Kendra Jaipur.
Dr Omprakash is an expert in famous Rajasthani folk art puppetry and a B grade in Sugam Music from Akashvani and B high grade in folk music. In April 2012, he was also working in the Directorate General of Doordarshan, New Delhi.
During his tenure, Dr Omprakash produced many contemporary and special programs. These include Village Jagat, Consumer Forum, Legal Advice, Folk Music, Choupal, Krishi Darshan, Literary Programs and many more. Along with this, special program series based on personality development and memory enhancement, open sky, and special OB based Sanjeev programs were also created.
Dr Omprakash also participated in two important training programs related to program production in Pune in the year 1992 and 1997. It was organised by the Film and Television Institute of India.
