Election Commission and local administration made all preparations for ‘secure vote-counting.’
Jaipur, 3rd September. The counting of votes for the three phases of elections for Zilla Parishad and Panchayat Samiti in 6 districts of the state will start from 9 am on Saturday at the district headquarters. The State Election Commission has issued necessary guidelines to all the District Election Officers for counting votes along with the protocol related to Corona.
Election Commissioner Shri PS Mehra said that elections were held for 200 Zilla Parishad members, 1564 Panchayat Samiti members, 6 District Pramukhs, Deputy District Pramukhs, and 78 Pradhans. Out of these, 1 Zilla Parishad member and 26 Panchayati Samiti members have been elected unopposed. In this way, the results of 199 Zilla Parishad and 1537 Panchayati Samiti members will be released on Saturday. He said that 64.40 percent of voters had exercised their rights in all three phases in the state.
Mr Mehra informed that the concerned district administration had made necessary arrangements for the counting of votes. He has also directed all the District Election Officers to stick to the COVID guidelines at the counting places. They must make all necessary arrangements, including fire vehicles, medical personnel, ambulances, public address system at the counting places.
He said that only those personnel officers would be employed in counting votes, who have received at least one dose of corona vaccine.
The Election Commissioner said that tough security arrangements have been made at the polling booth and its nearby area. He said that it should also be ensured that the results are declared in time without any error and delay. He also said that the instructions of the commission must be followed.
He said that after the victory of any candidate, winning procession, rally or gathering of a large number of people or public meeting would not be allowed. He has directed the police officers of the various districts to strictly follow the Corona protocol.
