Jaipur: BJP staged protests at district, booth, and zonal level across the state against various govt policies such as electricity tariff, electric subsidy, and wrong VCRs.
BJP state president Satish Poonia, LOP Gulabchand Kataria, deputy LOP Rajendra Rathore along with existing & former party MPS, MLAs, office-bearers, and party workers sounded an alarm for the state govt.
BJP leaders demanded the waiver of the electricity bill for four months of the corona crisis, take back increased tariffs, stop hidden charges like fuel surcharge statutory charges, VCR, and pendency in applied connections to relieve the farmers.
Satish Poonia gave a memorandum to the JEN at Manpura Machedi JVVNL sub-post with BJP workers accompanying him.
Poonia said the BJP MPS, MLAs, and party workers submitted similar memorandum at all GSS demanding total loan waiver, resuming Rs 833 subsidy, compensation for locust attack losses, filling pending govt vacancies, release unemployment allowance, improve law & order situation and find an amicable solution of the school fees stalemate.
Satish Poonia criticized the state govt for insensitivity on the death of farmer Pukhraj, by declaring it a corona induced death.
He cornered the govt for registering cases against the agitating farmers. He reminded of the suicides committed by three farmers of Jodhpur due to huge debts.
Poonia demanded relief for shopkeepers, street vendors & industries along with improvement in rampant law & order situation.
Protests to demand rollback of power tariff
BJP MLA Kalicharan Saraf burnt the effigy of Gehlot while protesting against the state govt policies under BJP’s ‘Halla bol’ campaign.
Saraf accompanied by party workers demanded to roll back the electricity tariff. Kuldeep Singh and Gaurav Sharma were also present in the protest.
EX MLA Ashok Parnami, VP Ajay Pal Singh, MP Ramcharan Bohra staged a protest in Raja park where he submitted a memorandum to the JEN at the electricity office.
They called it draconian to increase tariffs while people were struggling due to the coronavirus pandemic. Parnami said that while business is yet to pick up so increased tariff will trouble people.
Diya leads protest at Hawa Mahal
Rajsamand MP, Diya Kumari, today led the protest under the ‘Halla Bol’ program of in the Hawa Mahal Constituency of Jaipur.
She submitted a memorandum to the AEN of the Hawa Mahal electricity department.
On this occasion, the MP said that the ‘Halla Bol’ movement has attained momentum through its large numbers of participants.
At this time of crisis, electricity bills are being increased by the insensitive Rajasthan Government.
The State Government has also imposed penalties in these bills and it has been heard that from the next month they will also levy surcharge.
