Jaipur: Somya Gurjar, the most beautiful face of Jaipur politics and a former Vasundhara Raje nominee, is now all set to become the first mayor of Jaipur Greater Municipal Corporation as on November 10 she will be formally elected as Mayor, courtesy, her charming skills and her husband Rajaram Gurjar playing the role of a Godfather in this entire script.
Somya Gurjar was launched in politics by Raje as women commission member and her nomination to the top civic assignment has also sent a clear message to state’s BJP leadership that the former lady Chief Minister still has her say and ways in the party.
Only two days back, Somya’s husband met Raje at her civil lines residence. Somya, who enjoys the goodwill and credibility of a ‘consensus choice’, is looked upon as one who will be able to take along all sections of the saffron party in the state capital. Surprisingly, she also has good connections in RSS lobby and this factor has also helped her to reach this level.
Her ‘mastermind strategist’ husband Rajaram continues to be Chairman of Karauli Municipal Council. So now it will be easy for the lady Mayor to have some governance tips from her ‘mentor’ husband. Notably, when the ticket during Lok Sabha elections were being finalised, Somya’s name was second to the sitting MP Sukhbir Singh Jaunpuriya.
