Jaipur, September 18. On Saturday the state assembly passed the laws (amendment) bill, 2020 of Rajasthan agricultural universities by voice vote. After this no person shall be appointed as vice-chancellor, he should have a minimum of 10 years of experience as a teacher in agricultural education in a university or college or with 10 years of experience in an equivalent post in a reputed research or educational administrative organization and integrity.
Shri Lal Chand Kataria introduced the bill in the house for the discussion. In his reply, Shri Kataria said if in the opinion of the Chancellor, the Vice-Chancellor omits or refuses to carry out the provisions of this Act or abuses the powers vested therein, or if the Chancellor is of the opinion that the Vice-Chancellor continuance in office is prejudicial to the interest of the University, the Chancellor may remove the Vice-Chancellor by order after making such inquiry in consultation with the State Government. Shri Kataria said that permission has been given to fill up the vacant posts in 5 agricultural universities in the state and the process will soon be started.
Shri Kataria said that a committee has been made under the chairmanship of the principal secretary, government, department of finance to address the pension problem of retired people in Bikaner, Udaipur, and Jobner agricultural universities.
