Jaipur: The Rajasthan BJP will field mayor candidates in all the six municipal corporations in Jaipur, Jodhpur, and Kota. State BJP president Satish Poonia on Wednesday said that the party has performed well as compared to the ruling Congress in the recently held elections of six municipal corporations in Jaipur, Jodhpur and Kota.
Poonia said that Congress got a majority in just 2 out of six municipal corporations. “Usually, people in civic bodies elections vote for the ruling party but in the municipal corporation elections, the Congress got a majority in just two corporations. Our performance is far better than the Congress,” Poonia said.
The BJP state headquarters will witness a series of back-to-back marathon meetings in which national co-organising secretary V Satish, LoP Gulab Chand Kataria, Deputy LoP Rajendra Rathore, central ministers Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, Kailash Chaudhary, Arjun Ram Meghwal will be present in person and state president Satish Poonia and organisation secretary Chandrashekhar will attend the meetings virtually.
Important meetings will be about finalising the names of the Mayors of the BJP, as it is fielding its Mayor candidates in 6 municipal corporations.
