Jaipur, 18 September. According to the guidelines of the central government, the health department of the state is making serious efforts for corona awareness along with making availability from oxygen to medicines.
Senior officials of the state’s medical department gave this information in a virtual meeting of the Union Cabinet Secretary held on Saturday. It is noteworthy that from the Prime Minister to the epidemiologists have praised Rajasthan for its corona management.
Instructions for keeping buffer stock-
The Cabinet Secretary said that COVID is not over yet, the third wave of covid-19 may still come. So the state should be alert. In view of the current situation of covid-19 in some states, the purchase of essential life-saving medicines and equipment has been cut at their own level. Instructions were given by the Cabinet Secretary that according to the instructions given by the Government of India, adequate buffer stock of essential life-saving medicines should be kept and there should be no hesitation in the purchase of medicines and equipment. Don’t be under the illusion that buying medicines and equipment is a waste of money. Also, such states which fail to keep buffer stock of essential life-saving medicines in time, should not complain related to the shortage of medicines in case of the third wave.
Instructions for buying essential medicines
In the meeting, the Secretary, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India gave the instructions that in view of the feared the third wave of covid-19, all necessary preparations to save human life like keeping adequate buffer stock of essential life-saving medicines, increasing the number of oxygen beds, medical oxygen, increase the production capacity and availability should be done. He said that as per the information recorded on the DVDMS portal, there is still more need for the purchase of essential life-saving medicines in Rajasthan. On the other hand, for the supply of life-saving injection Tocilizumab 400 mg, it was said that the supply of the said injection is slow due to dependence on a single company. Therefore, the state governments should keep an adequate buffer stock of this injection and other essential life-saving medicines.
State’s Medical and Health Department and Finance Department’s Principal Secretary, Mr. Akhil Arora gave information about the status of covid through VC and showed the progress of vaccination and the preparations made by various states in relation to the feared third wave through powerpoint presentation. He informed that the state is on the way to become self-sufficient in medical oxygen production. About 400 oxygen plants are being set up in the state. They will be able to produce about 1000 metric tons of oxygen. Oxygen and ICU beds are being arranged in medical institutions located in remote areas. He said that in addition to the oxygen plant, about 50,000 oxygen concentrators are also being acquired.
Not a single district of Rajasthan is included
A special discussion was held in the video conference regarding the districts with high infection rates in the country, in which there was no district of Rajasthan. It was informed in the above presentation that Rajasthan is in a much better position than the country’s average in all standards of covid control and vaccination.
