Jaipur: State BJP president Satish Poonia on Sunday said that the Congress forgot that black chapters of corruption were written under the Congress rule and records of corruption were made during the UPA regime, on which the then Prime Minister Manmohan Singh remained silent, did not speak nor was any action taken against corruption.
Reacting to the statements of Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot against demonetisation on Sunday, Poonia said that all the leaders including Congress national president Sonia Gandhi, Chief Minister Gehlot, and Rahul Gandhi are opposing demonetisation and their pain was justified as everyone knew that most of the black money and foreign accounts of corruption were with Congress leaders.
Since the era of Jawaharlal Nehru, defence to jeep scam to commonwealth, coal, bofors, 2G, etc. big scams took place. “Black money, corruption, and collection of currency notes were the strength of Congress and demonetisation broke their back.
All know that inflation, corruption, and unemployment in the country is the legacy of Congress. Most of the corrupt Congress leaders are either in jail or are on bail,” he said in a press statement.
He said that the Congress is still living in the 18th century. Now the generation has changed and the issues have also changed. Today Congress has been completely rejected in thoughts and behavior and hence it is frightened by the efficient leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
“Congress is directionless, issueless, and leaderless. Now it has nothing left but political rhetoric,” he said.
