For waiving of school fees parents imposed curfew

Jaipur: The symbolic and voluntary shutdown held from 9 am to 1 pm on Monday demanding ‘No School, No Fee’ was successful. Traders, suo moto, closed their business establishments across the state.

Officials of the Joint Guardianship Committee distributed leaflets to ensure a peaceful shutdown.

The committee called for a peaceful Rajasthan Bandh demanding no school no fees.

The bandh claimed the support of about 450 businesses, social organizations and public representatives.

Committee spokespersons Abhishek Jain and Arvind Aggarwal informed that the support for the state-wide shutdown was garnered by various groups of parents belonging to Jaipur, Bhilwara, Chittorgarh, Ajmer, Kishangarh, Fatehpur, Shekhawati, Tonk, Jhalawar, Bagru by going from shop to shop and distributing more than 50,000 pamphlets.

After which, the traders voluntarily kept their businesses closed till 1 pm.

Spokespersons informed that there are more than one and half crore parents in the state, who have been requesting the schools continuously since last 5 months, seeking relief from the Central and State Government.

However, instead of heeding to the pain of the parents, they were constantly humiliated. In Jaipur, various markets Kishanpole, Chandpole, Chaura Rasta, Malviya Nagar, Jagatpura, Ramganj Bazaar, Tripolia Bazar remained closed on Monday.
