Jaipur, 26 Aug. The Rajasthan Forest Department along with French funding agency AFD proposed the Rajasthan Forest and Biodiversity Development Project. Under this, important work will be done for the protection of the environment, forest and wildlife. In this context, the team of AFD is on a visit to Jaipur from 25 to 27 August 2021 under the leadership of Country Head Bruno Bossel.
On Thursday, the AFD team visited the Nahargarh Biological Park operated by the Forest Department. During the visit, the team made efforts for the management and protection of plantations. This was done by the Ecological Development Committees, income generation activities conducted through self-help groups, forest protection and management committees.
The AFD team lead by Mr Bosel held a meeting with the higher officials of the Forest Department. it was held on August 25 under the chairmanship of Mrs Shreya Guha, Principal Secretary, Forest Department. At the meeting, they discussed the proposed project in detail.
Mrs Guha said that the project was very important from the point of view of Rajasthan. She also said that through these works of environment, forest and wildlife conservation will be done. Principal Chief Conservator of Forests and Forest Force Chief Dr Deep Narayan Pandey informed that France and Forest Department together have proposed the Rajasthan Forestry and Bio-diversity Development Project.
After getting approval from the state government, this project was sent to the Government of India last year. AFD team led by Mr Bruno Bossel reached Jaipur on Wednesday to discuss this project.
Additional Principal Chief Conservator of Forests proposed and explained the innovations in biodiversity, wildlife management and forest management.
Principal Chief Conservator of Forests and Chief Wildlife Warden Shri Arindam Tomar gave detailed information about the proposed works in the plan regarding wildlife conservation.
Shri Ashutosh Vajpayee, Joint Secretary, Finance Department, briefed on the financial issues regarding the project.
Principal Chief Conservator of Forests (Development) Shri SK Jain, Additional Principal Chief Conservator of Forests (Evaluation and Monitoring) Shri Munishkumar Garg, Ankit Tulsian and Akshita Sharma were present on behalf of the AFD team.
TJ Kavitha, CCF of RFBP, explained the project outline in detail through a presentation.
