Jaipur: The long wait of the Income-Tax department employees and officers for their pending promotions could well be over before Diwali.
The Income-Tax department has taken initiative to do away with hurdles in the departmental promotions by constituting a special committee.
The 3-member committee will be headed by PDIT (Investigations) Rajeshwar Singh while Income Tax Commissioner (Appeals) Mukesh Verma and Deputy Commissioner (HQ) Sushil Kulhari will be the members of the special committee.
This committee will ensure coordination between I-T employees and the department regarding the overdue DPC. The committee will have a special focus on all the legal hurdles in promotion of the employees.
The Income Tax Employees Federation (ITEF) has welcomed the constitution of the special committee.
State unit head of ITEF Rajendra Kumar Meena said that the committee should decide on the DPC before Diwali and take the decision regarding the promotions as soon as possible.
