Jaipur, September 15. the public health engineering department is making efforts to provide the Har Ghar Nal connection’ facility to all rural households in the state. 21 lakh households have got drinking water supply through ‘har Ghar Nal connection’.
Minister of water resources, Dr. B.D. Kalla said that despite of conditions like a desert, geographical distance between one village to another village and dhanis in the state, scattered population, groundwater shortage, and quality problems, the state government is working hard to provide ‘every household tap connection’ to all rural households by 2024 under Jal Jeevan mission (JJM).
JJM has more than 9.25 lakh ‘every household tap connection’ by the state government
Dr Kalla said that before JJM, 11 lakh 74 thousand 131 rural households in the state were getting ‘Har Ghar Nal connection’ facility. 9 lakh 26 thousand 858 rural households have been awarded ‘har Ghar Nal connection’ by JJM in august 2019 under the present state government. thus, till last day, out of one crore one lakh 32 thousand 274 households in the state, 21 lakh 989 families have drinking water supply through taps sitting at home. Har Ghar Nal connection’ facility has been provided to 90% or more households in 666 villages and 69-gram panchayats and 467 other villages in the state.
70 lakhs Har Ghar Nal connection’ sanctioned in 27,597 villages
The minister told that in this year a target has been fixed to connect 30 lakh families with the facility of Har Ghar Nal connection’. Also, a target of 18 lakh under regular wing and 12 lakhs Har Ghar Nal connections’ in major projects. Since last February, 8 meetings of the state-level planning sanctioning committee (SLSSC) have been held in the state. A total of 7875 rural drinking water projects including 102 major drinking water projects and 7773 multi and single village projects have been sanctioned. These schemes give clearances for 70 lakh 24 thousand 541Har Ghar Nalconnections’ in 27,597 villages of the state.
Technical clearances and tenders have come into action
Dr Kalla said that the work of getting technical clearances, tenders, and work order is also going on in a big way as compared to the rural drinking water projects sanctioned so far in JJM. Till now technical clearances of 6493 rural drinking water projects in 15,628 villages (39 lakh 61 thousand 908 for ‘har ghar tap connection’) and 6149 schemes (for 37 lakh 33 thousand 94 Har Ghar Nal connections’ in 14,687 villages) have been completed.
Technical clearances of 10548 villages (26 lakh 31 thousand 705 for Har Ghar Nal connection’ and 10,113 tenders (26 lakh 99 thousand 620 for ‘har ghar nal connection’ have been issued in the regular wing). 9 lakh 2 thousand 430 Har Ghar Nal connections’ have been issued in 3185 villages, at present 6 lakh 61 thousand 763 ‘Har Ghar Nal connections’ are being provided in 2285 villages. technical clearances of 5080 villages (11 lakh 30 thousand 203 for Har Ghar Nal) and 4574 tenders (10 lakh 33 thousand 474 for Har Ghar Nal connection’ have been issued under major drinking water projects. 2 lakh 17 thousand 33 ‘har ghar nal connections’ have been issued in 1178 villages, at present one lakh 41 thousand 479 Har Ghar Nal connections’ are being provided on the spot in 677 villages.
