Education department’s new initiative to curb child sex crimes: Government schools will wall child helpline numbers
Jaipur, September 18. An initiative has been taken by the department of education to curb incidents of girl child harassment and child sex crime in the state.
Dr. Bhanwar Lal state project director of Rajasthan school education council said that guidelines have been given for the installation of two specially made posters on the main walls of all government schools in the state to prevent child abuse. The first poster will show safe and unsafe touch which will help in curbing incidents of girl child harassment and child sex. The second poster will be on various child offenses and penal provisions for them which will give information on legal provisions in respect of child offenses. The poster will also have child helpline numbers.
The posters will be on 52,341 schools of elementary education and 15,18 schools in secondary education and an amount of rs.1500/- will be given to each school. All schools will have to carry out the work within 15 days and upload all expenditure information on the management portal of holistic education.
