Jaipur: The state created a new high of single day new cases for third consecutive day by adding a staggering 1,466 new cases of corona in past 24 hours along with 13 deaths.
The state now has 81693 corona positives so far and the death toll stands at 1056 on Monday night. 2 deaths were reported from Jaipur while one death each was reported from Ajmer, Bikaner, Dholpur, Ganganagar, Jaisalmer, Jodhpur, Kota, Nagaur, Rajsamand, Tonk and Udaipur.
Maximum 290 new cases were reported from Jaipur followed by 232 from Kota, 145 from Jodhpur, 142 from Alwar, 71 from Bikaner, 63 from Pali, 53 from Ajmer, 42 from Sirohi, 40 each from Baran, Jhalawar & Tonk, 36 each from Nagaur & Udaipur, 29 from Dungarpur, 21 from Bharatpur, 18 from Jhunjhunu,16 each from Dholpur, Pratapgarh, Rajsamand & Sawai Madhopur 14 from Hanumangarh, 12 each from Bhilwara, Chittorgarh & Ganganagar, 10 from Sikar, 9 from Barmer, 8 from Churu, 5 from Bundi, 4 from Jalore, 2 from Banswara and 1 from Jaisalmer.
Meanwhile, the special secretary of the health minister RAS Mahendra Sharma was home quarantined after he tested positive for corona.
The state government has extended the validity of section 144 in the state to September 30 which expired on August 31 as per earlier govt notification.
The orders were released by the Home department as the collector only has the power to impose section 144 for two months.
