The Rajasthan Government’s apex body for promotion and development of renewable energy, the Rajasthan Renewable Energy Corporation Limited (RRECL) has appointed nodal officers to accelerate the process related to investment in the sector.
The nodal officers will reach out to the government departments concerned such as Energy and Revenue and facilitate the process concerning private renewable energy projects. Chairman and Managing Director of the Corporation Shri Subodh Agarwal gave directions for appointment of the officials during review of the private investment projects in the state on Wednesday.
Representatives of more than 20 investors including NTPC, Tata Power, JSW and Renew Power, were present in the meeting. “The state government’s policies are a major attraction for investments in renewable energy sector, RRECL will ensure smooth progress of various processes related to investment in the sector,” Shri Agarwal said, assuring the investors of all support from the state government. Private investors were invited to share their issues and suggestions related to the respective projects.
Shri Agarwal also instructed the energy department officials to accelerate the progress on issues related to the renewable energy projects and decided to appoint two nodal officers at RRECL for speedy progress on issues concerning private investors.
Renewable and clean energy are among the focus areas of Chief Minister Shri Ashok Gehlot and they have been included among thrust areas in the investment promotion scheme.
Also, the state government has implemented progressive Rajasthan Solar Energy Policy 2019, and Wind and Hybrid Energy Policy 2019 to harness the renewable power potential of the state. These policies have been driving investment in the sector and despite Covid pandemic, the state has received investment proposals worth over Rs 1.67 lakh crore this year.
