Jaipur: In a big action on a five star property (Hotel Rajvilas) the State Goods and Services Tax (SGST) department recovered more than Rs 1 crore pending on the account of the due luxury tax and the interest calculated on it.
SGST Additional Commissioner Mahesh Kumar Choudhary confirmed the recovery of Rs 1,05,92,412 from 5 star rated Hotel Rajvilas situated on Goner road of the city in a case pursued by Choudhary himself.
It is noteworthy that AE SGST,, Jaipur (Zone 3) had raided Hotel Rajvilas on 25 June 2019 and had discovered discrepancies in the luxury tax paid by the hotel for the financial years 2014-15, 2015-16, 2016- 17 and 2017-18.
The hotel was ordered to pay the due luxury tax amount along with applicable interest on 17 August 2020.
The SGST department was finally successful in the recovery of the whole due amount with interest on Wednesday
