In regards to conducting the elections for Zilla Parishad and Panchayat Samiti members in 6 districts of the state in a free, fair, and peaceful manner. In the meeting, he also discussed some of the necessary guidelines which need to follow.
In the meeting with the Commissioner’s secretariat, they talked about the need for the police force during the Panchayat elections-2021; their planning, action plan and other matters related to law and order were discussed in detail. Several important issues, including the availability of adequate Home Guards in the constituency, were also discussed.
The Commissioner directed the Special Secretary of the Home Department that if cases of violation of the guidelines of covid protocols are found during the election campaign, then appropriate instructions should be given to the police officers for necessary action under the guidelines. On the subject of providing police force to Zonal Magistrates or Sector Magistrates, the Additional Director General of Police apprised that adequate police constables are being provided to these magistrates to control the adequate law and order in the area, he said.
The Commissioner said that the department is committed to conducting free, fair and peaceful elections. He said that the police administration would work on creating a positive and fearless environment for the Panchayat general elections so that every citizen could vote fearlessly.
Additional Director General of Police and Special Secretary, Home Department assured that law and order will be maintained during the Panchayat elections, and the elections would be conducted safely and peacefully in the area, he said.
Additional Director General of Police (Law and Order) Mr Saurabh Srivastava, Special Secretary, Home Department Mr V. Sarwan Kumar, Secretary of the Commission Mrs Chitra Gupta, Deputy Secretary Mr Ashok Jain and many officers were present in the meeting.
