Jaipur: Rains continued to lash parts of Rajasthan, particularly in southern areas where both the Vagad region districts of Dungarpur and Banswara received heavy rains.
Mahi dam in Banswara is overflowing and all the 16 gates were opened on Sunday, 14 gates were opened at the level of 6 meter and two gates were opened at half meter.
Beneshwar dham in Dungarpur too became an island. The district has also received heavy rainfall, particularly in Aspur and Sabla areas due to which rivers and drains are overflowing.
Dungarpur recorded an average of 4 inch rainfall last night. The maximum rainfall of 14 inch was in Aspur. Meanwhile, rainwater entered Bodigama Chhota and Bada, Pindaval villages where normal life has been affected.
Roads too have been obstructed due to water flow on the bridges. In Jalore, MeT has issued an alert and warning, following which the district collector Himanshu Gupta instructed all the officers of the district to be vigilant.
On the other hand, water inflow in Rana Pratap Sagar dam in Chittorgarh is constantly increasing and the authorities have opened one gate of the dam to release water.
People were alerted through sirens before opening the gate. 10 gates of Kalisindh dam in Jhalawar were opened.
The downpour continued on Sunday in Jhalawar, Manoharthana, Jhalrapatan, Khanpur & Aklera.
