Jaipur, 8th September. Minister of State for Youth Affairs and Sports, Shri Ashok Chandna said that the Rajasthan Rural Olympic Games is being planned to be held in the state. It would present an opening to promote the sports talents in the rural areas. It would also be ready to lend a hand in creating an environment of sports in the villages. Mr Chandna claimed that the Rajasthan Rural Olympic Games would be the largest sporting experience of its kind. Not just in the entire of India but in the whole world. A total of about 50 lakh participants would partake in the same.
He said that he would make efforts to register this event in the Guinness Book of World Records in terms of the number of participants.
The Minister of State participated in the meeting of the Committee constituted by the Department of Youth Affairs and Sports. He attended the meeting with Chief Secretary Shri Niranjan Arya. It was all about organizing the Rajasthan Rural Olympic Games. The meeting was held at the Government Secretariat on Wednesday through video conferencing.
Shri Chandna listed the games that would be played. These are Kabaddi, Shooting, Volleyball, Tennis, Cricket, Kho-Kho, Volleyball and Hockey. Teams will be formed from all the revenue villages of each gram panchayat. The winning team at the gram panchayat level will play at the block level. The winning team at the block level will play at the district level and the winning team at the district level will play at the state level.
During the meeting, Chief Secretary Shri Niranjan Arya said that Rajasthan Rural Olympic Games will be structured in accordance with the budget announcement of the Chief Minister for the year 2021-22. It will be aimed at bringing forward the sports talents at the village level, on the outline of State Games, Gram Panchayats, Block level, District level and State level.
Arya said that they have successfully organized state-level games in the Rajasthan. After that tremendous success organizing Rural Olympic Games would attest to be a benefit for the rural sports talents. He also congratulated the Minister of State for the five talents from Rajasthan that won the medals at the Tokyo Paralympic Games.
On this occasion, Government Secretary, Youth Affairs and Sports, Mr Vikas Bhale informed that the department has developed an app and web portal for registration of players in these games at the Panchayat level. In this, the players register themselves in the respective game. He said that these games would be organized on a particular day at the gram panchayat level in the entire state. The games are proposed to be organized in the months of November and December.
In the meeting, Additional Chief Secretary School Education Department Shri Pawan Kumar Goel, Principal Secretary Rural Development was present. Smt. Aparna Arora who is the Principal Secretary of, Tribal Regional Development Department was also present. Shri Shikhar Agrawal, Government Secretary Medical and Health Department Shri Siddharth Mahajan along with all the Divisional Commissioners. , Inspector General of Police, District Collectors and all District Sports Officers participated through video conferencing.
