Strict adherence to safety standards – Additional Chief Secretary Mines and Petroleum.
Jaipur, 5 September. Additional Chief Secretary Mines and Petroleum Dr Subodh Agrawal has stressed the use of the newest technology in mining while propounding the need to strictly stick to safety standards in mining activities.
He said that safe, secure and zero loss based mining activities should be adopted. Pointing to the responsibility of everyone in environmental protection, he requested the mining leaseholders to plant more and more trees.
He said that Bikaner has abundant reserves of silica sand, so gravel is being extracted from the Paleo channel. Along with this, there is a huge stock of potash in the division. He directed the officers to take strict action against illegal mining and transportation.
ACS Dr Aggarwal during the inspection saw in detail the mining activities of Mineral Gravel, Ball Clay, Silica Sand, Gravel, Murram and understood the whole system of approved forks including vehicle photo, load camera observation and other processes.
He said that now the e-Raavanna can be confirmed only after weighing with the approved three hooks. He also visited the washing plant of silica sand.
SME Shri Rajeev Choudhary informed that in the Bikaner region, gravel is extracted through the Paleo channel due to the deposition area being underground.
During the inspection, the mining lease holders gave detailed information about the activities. Dr Agarwal also planted saplings on this occasion.
