Jaisalmer, June 5, 2023: In a daring rescue operation, a tractor driver, along with his tractor, was successfully pulled out of the water near Gadisar Lake in Jaisalmer. The Civil Defense and Municipal Fire Brigade team worked relentlessly for an hour to save both the driver and the tractor.
The tractor driver, identified as Bunty, explained that he used to cross the lake with his tractor every day through shallow water. However, on Monday, his tractor got trapped in a deep pothole filled with water. Unfortunately, he also found himself stuck on the tractor. Fortunately, a passerby immediately notified the Municipal Corporation about the incident.
Responding swiftly, the Municipal Corporation and the Civil Defense team managed to rescue him. After a strenuous hour-long effort, the tractor was finally pulled out from the water. Prabhu Singh, the in-charge of the Municipal Fire Brigade, stated that they received information around 2 PM on Monday that a person was sitting on a submerged tractor behind the Mukteshwar Mahadev Temple and was in danger. They immediately called in the swimming team from the Civil Defense and the fire brigade team from the Municipal Corporation.
The swimming team promptly rescued the driver, Bunty, an 18-year-old resident of Alwar, from the water. With the help of a crane, the tractor was also successfully retrieved from the water after an arduous hour-long operation assisted by the JCB.
This incident serves as a reminder of the importance of caution and vigilance while crossing water bodies, especially during the monsoon season. The prompt response and coordinated efforts of the Municipal Corporation and the Civil Defense team saved the life of the tractor driver and prevented a potential tragedy.
