Jaipur, September 14. Rajasthan rural Olympic games will be in November by the department of youth affairs and sports in the state to carve out rural talent and to make an atmosphere of sports in the villages. For the first time 50 lakh sportspersons will participate in the rural Olympic games on the same day.
Shri Vikas Sitaramji Bhale, secretary, government, department of youth affairs and sports said that as per the budget told by the chief minister, Shri Ashok Gehlot for the year 2021-22, the gram panchayat level, block level, district level, and state-level Rajasthan rural Olympic games will be held to bring sports talent forward at the village level.
He said the Olympic games will be in all the 11,341 state gram panchayats, there will be 6 types of sports – kabaddi, shooting volleyball, tennis ball cricket, kho-kho, volleyball, and hockey.
All district collectors have been told to set up committees for playgrounds in gram panchayats for the successful working of rural Olympic games, clear the status of physical teachers and sports experts and register sportspersons as much as they can. More than 25,000 rupees is given for organizing sports at each gram panchayat level, dress given to sportspersons, sports material, and prizes. The state government will spend more than rs.43 crores on these games so that sports talent can get a platform.
